Weather Forecast: Southwest Monsoon to Bring Heavy Rainfall over These Places; Better Weather Conditions for Sowing

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Central Arabian Sea, some parts of northeast Arabian Sea, Gujarat state, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, remaining parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), some parts of Madhya Pradesh, most parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and some more parts of Bihar.

Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of Central Arabian Sea, some parts of northeast Arabian Sea, Gujarat state, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, remaining parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai), some parts of Madhya Pradesh, most parts of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and some more parts of Bihar. Under the influence of east-west trough, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall very likely to continue over Maharashtra, Gujarat, most parts of central and east India during next 3-4 days with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat and isolated heavy over south Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Marathwada during next 2 days, says the weather department reports in its morning bulletin.  

Southwest Monsoon to Bring Heavy Rainfall over These Places

Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of north Arabian Sea, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours.

Widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls likely to continue over northeast & adjoining east India during next 3-4 days.

These Places Witnessed Heavy Rainfall Yesterday

Rain/Thundershowers observed at most places over West Bengal & Sikkim, Coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep; at few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, East Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra and Kerala & Mahe; at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Konkan & Goa, Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Minimum & Maximum Temperature

Maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya, Saurashtra & Kutch and Konkan & Goa while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over West Rajasthan and at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.
