It is expected to move west-northwestwards toward the Sri Lanka-Tamil Nadu coasts in the next 24 hours. An upper air cyclonic circulation associated with the system extends to mid-tropospheric levels.

Western Disturbance: A trough in the middle tropospheric westerlies is present along longitude 70°E, north of latitude 33°N.
