The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather forecast for several regions across India, predicting heavy rainfall, dense fog, and temperature changes in the coming days. This detailed overview provides insights into rainfall patterns, foggy conditions, and temperature expectations across key regions.

Heavy Rainfall Across South India

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in various parts of South India due to cyclonic systems. The rainfall distribution is as follows:

IMD attributes this rainfall to a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal near Tamil Nadu and another system over the Arabian Sea off Kerala’s coast.

Fog Advisory: Dense Fog Over Northern India

Dense fog has affected visibility in various regions and is expected to persist, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours. Here’s the fog forecast:

Over the past 24 hours, the IMD observed temperature trends across various regions. Minimum temperatures remained stable in most areas, though certain locations reported notable deviations:

  • Above Normal: Punjab (5°C above normal), West Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, and Rayalaseema saw higher-than-average temperatures.

  • Notable Low: Sidhi in East Madhya Pradesh recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 11.4°C.
