The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for the coming days, predicting dense to very dense fog conditions over parts of northwest India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, particularly during the night and morning hours. Along with this, light to moderate rainfall is expected in several regions, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The IMD also warns of isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hailstorm activity in certain areas, while temperature variations will be observed across the country. Two active cyclonic circulations influencing the current weather conditions. These systems are driving localized weather changes, including rainfall and fog across various regions of India.

  • A cyclonic circulation persists over the Comorin area and surrounding regions at lower tropospheric levels.

  • Another cyclonic circulation lies over south Bangladesh and its neighborhood, extending up to lower tropospheric levels.

The India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall forecasts and warnings for various regions from 18th to 23rd November 2024.. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Mahe may see heavy rain on select days, while the Andaman & Nicobar Islands could experience heavy downpours on 22nd–23rd. Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of the northeast are likely to witness rain and isolated hailstorms on 20th–21st November.

In contrast, Northeast India may witness a slight rise in minimum temperatures by 2–3°C after an initial two-day stability. These variations indicate localized cooling and warming trends across different regions.

Daytime temperatures will stay between 25–27°C, with nighttime lows of 11–16°C. Evening and night conditions will see reduced winds and persistent shallow fog or smog.
