• Deep Depression Over Bay of Bengal: The deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified and is currently centered at latitude 8.5°N and longitude 82.3°E. It lies approximately 120 km east-southeast of Trincomalee, 370 km southeast of Nagapattinam, 470 km southeast of Puducherry, and 550 km south-southeast of Chennai. The system is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm within the next 12 hours, moving north-northwestwards, skirting the Sri Lankan coast, and heading toward the Tamil Nadu coastline.

• Western Disturbance: A fresh western disturbance is noted as a cyclonic circulation over northeast Iran, influencing weather conditions in the western Himalayan region.

IMD forecasted intense rainfall activity as a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal intensifies into a cyclonic storm. Residents in these areas are advised to exercise caution, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours, as visibility may be significantly reduced.
