Weather Update: Delhi-NCR Receives Thunderstorm & Rainfall, IMD Predicts Rain in UP, Haryana, & Rajasthan, Red Alert in Mumbai
Delhi and NCR woke up to a rainy and thunderous Monday morning. The city and its adjoining areas like Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram received light to moderate rainfall. IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) had predicted early morning thunderstorms and rain in various parts of Delhi and nearby areas, including UP, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
Delhi rains
Delhi rains have brought huge respite to its residents, as the city was under heavy humidity the last 2 days. However, there is moderate to severe water logging in various parts of the city due to which commuters may have to face challenges and traffic jams during the day.
As per IMD forecast, Delhi and areas like Noida, Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Bahadurgarh, Ballabhgarh, Assandh, Gannaur, Gohana, Safidon, Rohtak, Sonipat, and Jhajjar will receive rainfall from light to moderate intensity, along with thunderstorms today.
Rain in Haryana
IMD has predicted rainfall for areas like Sohana, Palwal, Narnaul, Kosali, Mahendargarh, Bawal, Farukhnagar, Nuh, Rewari, and Hodal in Haryana.
Rain in Uttar Pradesh
IMD forecasts downpour in various parts of Uttar Pradesh (UP), such as Bulandshahar, Meerut, Moradabad, Modinagar, Muzzaffarnagar, Hastinapur, Bagpat, Baraut, Chandpur, Bijnaur, Sambhal, Khatauli, Billari, Amroha, Siyana, Chandausi, Hapur, Garhmukteshwar, Pilakhua, Sahaswan, Shikarpur, Anupshahar, Gulaoti, Jahangirabad, Gulaoti, Nandgaonare, and Barsana.
Mumbai rains
IMD has issued red alert in Mumbai, which is under the wrath of heavy rains since Sunday. As per news reports so far, 32 people have died and six are injured in separate rain-related incidents in various parts of the city.
Mumbai faced water cuts and power outages due to heavy rainfall. CM Uddhav Thackeray called a high-level meeting and directed civic officials and rescue agencies to be on alert and rush to any mishap spot that gets reported in the city.
