Weather Update: Delhi to Witness Thunderstorm and Patchy Rain Today; Revival of Monsoon will Drop Temperature in These States

The minimum temperature of National Capital on Friday is predicted to be 29 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is likely to be around 40°C . Delhi is likely to witness thunderstorm along with patchy rain today.
Rainfall is expected to intensify from July 10, after monsoon reaches Delhi and the remaining parts of north-west India. A cloudy sky along with moderate rainfall has been predicted for Saturday, as per IMD.
“The moist easterly winds in the lower level from the Bay of Bengal have started to establish over eastern India. It is likely to spread over northwest India, covering Punjab and north Haryana by July 10. The south-west monsoon is likely to advance over the remaining parts of west Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi around July 10,” IMD added.
Weather across India:
Weather took a complete U-turn in several parts of North-west India last week after south-west monsoon stalled its further movement and failed to keep up with its expected date of arrival. In the absence of rainfall, the temperature reached to a new highs- notching well above 40 degree Celsius .
Apart from that, on July 7, Delhi recorded 40 degree Celsius while Gurugram registered 44.5 degree Celsius .
Recent predictions indicate a significant respite for the region as wet weather conditions are set to make a comeback over parts of Northwest India. As per IMD, the much-awaited revival of the monsoon is likely to arrive later this week.
The presence of moist easterly winds blowing in from the Bay of Bengal is expected to result in the onset of monsoon over most parts of northern India. These winds will start blowing gradually over East India from today. Thereafter, they will spread further onto the plains of North-west India.
Under the influence of such weather condition, the weather department has forecast scattered to widespread rainfall over parts of North-west India from July 9 onwards.
Moreover, isolated heavy showers are also on the cards for Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh from July 9 onwards.
