Weather Update: IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Telangana & Issues Alerts in Kerala till July 17

Hyderabad: On 13th July Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall & thunderstorm in Telangana till 17th July. IMD warned there will be light to moderate rain/thunderstorm showers likely to occur at many places in state.

IMD: Heavy Rainfall & Thunderstorm in Telangana till July 17

Hyderabad: On 13th July Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall & thunderstorm in Telangana till 17th July. IMD warned there will be light to moderate rain/thunderstorm showers likely to occur at many places in state.

Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Nirmal, Warangal, Sangareddy, Kamareddy, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Siddipet, Vikarabad districts of Telangana.

Heavy rain to occur at isolated places in Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Khammam, Mulugu, Mancherial, Janagaon, Narayanpet, Mahabubnagar, Yadadri Bhuvangiri districts of Telangana.

The Telangana State Development Planning Society said, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Aswaraopeta district recorded maximum of 119.8 mm of rainfall on 10th July Saturday against the state average of 19.0 mm.

Heavy rainfall between 64.5-115.5 mm received in, Jayashankar, Jangaon, Rajanna Sircilla, Mahabubabad, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Bhadradri Kothagudem, districts. Moderate Rainfall between 15.6-64.4 mm received all over the state except Nalgonda district.

In the last 24 hours in the GHMC area, highest rainfall of 38.3 mm recorded at Maredpally (Circle No 23, Secunderabad), highest maximum temperature of 30.6 degree Celsius recorded at Mondamarket (Circle No 30, Begumpet) & lowest minimum temperature of 21.2 degree Celsius recorded at Shapur Nagar (Circle No 25, Qutubullapur).

IMD also predicted light to moderate rain or thunderstorms expected at many places for the next two days in GHMC area and across the state till 17th July.

IMD issues Alerts in Districts of Kerala till July 17

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department predicted heavy rain to be expected in Kerala till 17th July. Yellow & Orange alerts have been issued in different districts.

IMD issued orange alert in Idukki on 13th July as heavy to very heavy is predicted.

Below are the districts for which IMD has issued yellow alert:

13th July: Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kasaragod, Kollam, Kottayam, Kannur & Palakkad.

14th July: Idukki, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kasaragod, Kannur, Kottayam, Thrissur & Ernakulam.

15th July: Ernakulam, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kasaragod, Kannur, Alappuzha, Thrissur & Kozhikode.

16th July: Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam & Idukki.

17th July: Ernakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kannur, Kozhikode, Kasaragod & Kottayam.

As heavy rain is expected, IMD also cautioned the residents near the river banks, landslide-mudflow and low-lying areas prone hilly regions that have already received high rain fall on previous days.
