The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued its latest weather predictions for Delhi, forecasting a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.8 degrees Celsius. As we transition into the final days of March, Delhites can expect a mix of partly cloudy skies and intermittent spells of rain accompanied by gusty winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour.

Thunderstorms and Rainfall Across Northeastern States

A cyclonic circulation over south Assam and another over Odisha are expected to bring weather changes to the northeastern states. Starting from March 29, isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning are very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. As these systems progress, the intensity of rainfall and thunderstorms is expected to increase, becoming fairly widespread to widespread from March 30 to April 4.

Impact of Western Disturbance in Northern Regions

A Western Disturbance identified as a cyclonic circulation over Iran and its neighboring areas, along with induced cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan, will influence the weather in northern regions. Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can anticipate fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over the weekend. Additionally, isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected over these areas during the same period. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh may experience isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning, with the possibility of hailstorms in some regions.

Weather Systems Impacting Central and Southern India

In central and southern regions, a cyclonic circulation over southwest Madhya Pradesh and a trough/wind discontinuity extending from north Tamil Nadu are anticipated to influence the weather. West Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, East Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha can expect isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning till Sunday.
