Weather News: Telangana's Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao advised all ministries to be on high alert and take action to prevent any fatalities as the state continues to experience severe rainfall.

Rao also ordered a three-day holiday starting on Monday for all educational institutions. In a meeting with cabinet ministers, the chief secretary, and other officials, Rao examined the situation and discussed the next steps that should be taken.

On Sunday, heavy rain occurred continuously in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi in Karnataka, flooding low-lying areas and causing buildings in the districts to be submerged. The deputy commissioners for the two districts announced a break for schools and anganwadis on Monday due to the weather.

Additionally, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert in four districts of the state throughout the day as heavy rains pounded many areas of Kerala. At 4 p.m., the IMD issued an orange alert for the districts of Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod in northern Kerala.

In addition, a yellow alert was issued for all other districts with the exception of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. An orange signal means very severe rains between 6 cm and 20 cm of rain, while a red alert indicates heavy to extremely heavy rainfall of exceeding 20 cm in a 24-hour period. A yellow signal indicates 6 to 11 cm of heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, the Met Center said that until Monday, isolated areas in the Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Peddapally, and Jayashankar Bhupalapally districts are very likely to see heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rain.
