The weather department has predicted no cold wave conditions over any part of the country during the next week.
As winter is in the departure mode, many parts of northeast and east India will likely receive light to moderate rainfall and light snowfall, according to the India Meteorological Department. The northern region has seen a temperature rise, with the capital city’s maximum temperature at 27 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature at 7.6 degrees Celsius.
Under the influence of jet stream winds at a speed of 165 knots, Arunachal Pradesh is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall today. Other northeast regions such as Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Nagaland are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall and snowfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms today, which may extend till Sunday.
Considering the damage from rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, the weather agency has suggested avoiding roadway underpasses, drainage ditches, low-lying areas, areas where water collects as they can unexpectedly flood or overflow, and electrical wires.
With a hailstorm over Madhya Pradesh yesterday (on Thursday), the western disturbance is further likely to influence the western Himalayan regions with light to moderate rainfall till Tuesday. Similarly, moderate rainfall is likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim today, and Odisha on Saturday. The western Himalayan regions are also likely to receive light to moderate rainfall along with snowfall till Tuesday.
