Agricultural scientists from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Pusa have issued some advisories for the farmers. According to the, there is a risk of disease in potatoes and tomatoes due to excessive moisture in the air. As a result, keep an eye on the crop on a frequent basis. Take a spray of carbendazim (1.0 gm/Ltr of water) or Dithane-M-45 (2.0 gm/Ltr of water) if symptoms arise.
Farmers are recommended to sow late wheat at the earliest, taking into account the temperature. Treat the seeds with Thiram at a rate of 2.0 g per kilogram of seed before sowing. Farmers should sprinkle Chlorpyrifos (20 EC) @ 5.0 liters per hectare with Paleva or in dry fields where termite infestation develops. Fertilizer amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium should be 80, 40, and 40 kg per hectare, respectively.
For Mustard Crop
Farmers should work on rarefaction and weed control in the late-sown mustard crop, according to agricultural scientists. With the drop in average temperature, constant monitoring of white rust disease in mustard crops is necessary. Use well-prepared cow dung manure and potash fertilizer before planting onions on prepared fields this season.
Monitor Leaf-Eating Insects
Apply the appropriate amount of fertilizer to the potato crop and complete the soiling process. Farmers that have a ready nursery of tomato, cauliflower, cabbage, and broccoli plants can transplant the plants while keeping the weather in mind. Keep an eye on leaf-eating bugs in cauliflower veggies at all times. If the number is higher, apply Bt (1.0 g per liter of water) or Spinosad (1.0 ml / 3 liters of water) to the affected area.
Remove Weeds
Farmers must remove weeds by weeding and hoeing vegetables throughout the season. Irrigate the vegetable crop before fertilizing it. To prevent mealybug on mango stems, growers should create a 25 to 30-centimeter perimeter around the mango stem at a height of 5 meters from the ground. Wrap a wide alkathene bandage around the wound. To kill the eggs, dig around the stem in the soil.
Farmers have been asked to monitor the blossom rot disease in their marigold harvest in light of the probability of high humidity. Dr. Ananta Vashisht, Dr. Krishnan, Dr. Deb Kumar Das, Dr. BS Tomar, Dr. JPS Dabas, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. P. Sinha, and Dr. Sachin Suresh Suroshe are agricultural scientists who have given this guidance.
