Good News: Government to Set up Kisan Service Centers to Increase Farmers’ Income; Check Facilities Available at These Centres

In midst of the farmer’s protest, Jharkhand government has decided to open Kisan Service Center in the state to increase the income of farmers. Under this, farmers will be imparted training and along with this markets will be made available to the farmers.

In midst of the farmer’s protest, Jharkhand government has decided to open Kisan Service Center in the state to increase the income of farmers. Under this, farmers will be imparted training and along with this markets will be made available to the farmers.  

With the help of Kisan Service Center, farmers can connect to different areas of agriculture to increase the income of the farmers. As per reports, the government has made a budgetary provision of Rs 61 crore in the recent budget. Moreover, the state government has also brought many schemes to benefit the farmers. The state government believes that these schemes will benefit the farmers and this will increase their income. This initiative is taken by the Jharkhand government with the aim of doubling farmer’s income by 2022. 

What is Kisan Service Center? 

Recently, in its financial budget 2021-22 presented by the government of Jharkhand on March 3, it has been announced to open Kisan Service Center for farmers. In this, farmers groups will be trained in the marketing system and market will be made available for them to sell their produce easily. 

How Kisan Service Center will be set up? 

Under the Integrated Birsa Village Development Scheme, Kisan Service Center will be established under this scheme designated as Birsa Village, selecting the village from each district. Under this scheme, farmers groups will be made available by connecting farmers from different dimensions of agriculture by training farmers groups. A budgetary provision of Rs 61 has been made under the scheme in this financial year. 

How Farmers Can Take Benefit from Kisan Service Center? 

Kisan service center will greatly benefit the farmers. Since under this, farmers group will be formed after selecting villages from each district and they will be trained so that they will be able to market their products easily. This will make the farmers more likely to get good profits. 

Irrigation facilities will be available collectively 

The state government has also come out with the Kisan Samridhi Yojana for farmers. Under this, solar based deep boring, irrigation facility will be provided collectively in different blocks of each district. For this, a budgetary provision of Rs 45.83 crore has been made in the coming financial year. 

Emphasis will be Given on cultivation of horticultural crops 

The state government is emphasizing on increasing cultivation of horticulture crops in urban areas. For this, a house garden can be developed in the vacant land around the houses in urban areas. The objective of this scheme is to ensure availability of fresh vegetables at very low cost to the residents of the city. Under this, a budgetary provision of Rs 2 crore has been made for 5000 nutritious house gardens in this financial year. 

24 cold graves will be established for storage of fruits and vegetables 

Under the development plan for Post Harvest and Preservation Infrastructure, a total of 24 cold grafts / minor cold grafts will be set up in the state, for which a provision of Rs 31 crore has been made in the budget. The main objective of this scheme is to prevent loss after harvesting of horticulture crops and preserve the fruits and vegetables for a longer period while increasing self-life. 

Dairy farmers will also get Credit Card facility 

30 thousand dairy farmers of the state will be benefited under the Kisan Credit Card facility to milch cattle farmers. Distribution of 2 milch cows, Kamdhenu dairy farming, assistance to progressive dairy farmers, distribution of hand and electric powered chefs cutters and technical input materials at subsidized rates for the purpose of generating additional income and self-employment for rural milk producers / progressive dairies.  

Apart from this, new dairy plant in Giridih and milk product plant and milk powder plant will be set up in Ranchi. 

Chamber of Commerce will be formed 

The main objective of the formation of Chamber of Commerce is to establish better coordination between farmers and traders and increase the possibility of market linkage. As a result of the formation of Chamber of Commerce, farmers groups will develop and small agro-industries will develop in the state and farmers will get fair price for their produce and many small food processing units can be set up. For this, the government has made a provision of Rs 7 crore in this financial year. 

Provision of 10 crores for Jharkhand State Horticulture Society 

The main objective of this scheme is to develop an institutional system that can better monitor and evaluate the schemes run by the Directorate of Horticulture and the State Horticulture Mission at the field level. As a result of the formation of this society, sufficient number of technically competent manpower will be served. 

After the formation of this society, better coordination will be established between farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs and traders. For this, a provision of Rs 10 crore has been made in this budget. 

Jharkhand State Crop Relief Scheme started (Kisan Fasal Rahat Yojana) 

Jharkhand State Kisan Fasal Rahat Yojana has been started in place of Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme in the state.

Under this, farmers will be provided financial assistance by assessing the loss in case of loss in production of crops due to adverse weather conditions. For this, the state government has made a provision of 50 crore rupees this year.
