Maharashtra Govt. Announces Financial Help for Farmers Affected Due to Floods and Heavy rainfall

The Chief Minister said that his government has brought in smart meters for BEST buses, reduced fuel prices, and also introduced drip irrigation.

The Chief Minister stated that his government has implemented drip irrigation, reduced fuel rates, and installed smart metres for BEST buses among other things.

On Tuesday Maharashtra Chief Minister, Eknath Sindhe announced a Rs.13,600 per hectare financial help for farmers affected due to the recent floods and heavy rainfall in the State.

Shinde said that "Deputy chief minister (Devendra Fadnavis) and I personally went to Gadchiroli to see the farmers and support them." He said that the weather was so bad that they chose to travel by road when the helicopter's pilot refused to fly it there.

The Chief Minister stated that his government has implemented drip irrigation, reduced fuel rates, and installed smart metres for BEST buses among other things. He also said that the upcoming holidays of Ganesh Chaturthi and Krishna Janmashtami would be celebrated with great joy and that the government would pay the costs of any injuries sustained by Govindas during the celebration of dahi handi.

Shinde said that government would take action against his party MLAs who resort to violence "Due procedure will be followed and the police will do their duty".

Fadnavis smashed out at the opposition parties saying that " All keep questioning our stability, they should worry about their stability since all three parties are moving in three different places. People of Maharashtra can see that we are working for them and our party is for the common man".

According to Ambadas Danve, the leader of the opposition in the council, “This government sanctioned funds for the bullet train without any delay, but farmers have to wait and suffer in the State. We will raise this issue in the session”.

Nationalist Congress Party leaders Jayant Patil, Eknath Khadse, Chhagan Bhujbal along with Congress leaders Prithviraj Chauhan, Nana Patole, and Bhai Jagtap also attended the press conference.
