The Rajasthan government has provided subsidies of Rs 1,044 crore to over 1.25 crore farmers and domestic electricity consumers through various schemes, chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday.

Electricity bills for around 43 lakh people have now been eliminated. According to an official statement, the state government's proactive and effective administration has improved the power supply in the state.

According to the statement, Gehlot held an energy department review meeting at his residence.

Despite the blistering heat, he claimed, the power supply remained regular, and the state had enough power to meet demand in June and July.

According to the chief minister, the Mukhyamantri Kisan Mitra Yojana has provided a subsidy of Rs 291.54 crore to nearly 12.66 lakh farmers for agricultural electricity connections.

A subsidy of Rs 752.58 crore has been awarded under the Chief Minister's Household Electricity Grant Scheme to provide relief in electricity bills to more than 1.15 crore household consumers in the state. About 36 lakh domestic consumers and 7 lakh farmers now have no electricity bills as a result of this.

Gehlot expressed worry about the challenges with coal supply and stated that the state government is working hard to resolve them as soon as possible in cooperation with the central government.

Irrigation of crops is currently taking place in several sections of the state, according to the chief minister. As a result, farmers should have access to adequate electricity.

By 2024, 4.88 lakh farmers in the state will have received new agricultural electricity connections in a gradual way, according to Gehlot.
