Tender Jackfruit: An Organically cultivated variety which is now gaining massive popularity

Kerala's idichakka, or tender jackfruit, has become quite popular all over the world. In nations like Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, the price of a tender jackfruit has risen to Rs 200. Meanwhile, in Kerala, it costs between Rs 40 and Rs 50.

Due to the favorable weather circumstances, the tender jackfruit tree continues to blossom. Farmers used to be eager to sell ripe jackfruits. Tender jackfruit, on the other hand, is presently in high demand on the worldwide market, and they are selling it in large quantities.

Tender jackfruits are purchased in bulk and sent to other nations via agents or middlemen. Palakkad, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kozhikode all export tonnes of fresh tender jackfruit.

Jackfruit: The Nutrient-Packed Fruit

Vegans appreciate organically farmed tender jackfruit as a meat substitute. Tender jackfruit is a nutritious food that is high in calories, carbs, fiber, beta carotene, vitamin B, calcium, and iron. It also includes anti-oxidants, which can help to increase immunity.

Tender jack fruit is beneficial to diabetics and people with high cholesterol. It aids in gut cleansing and immune enhancement. Tender jackfruit may be used to make a variety of meals such as thoran (stir fry), yoghurt gravy, pickles, chutney, and cutlets.

The capacity to use almost every part of the jackfruit and prepare a broad range of recipes is truly amazing, given that it is the largest tree-borne fruit. Except for the outer skin of green thorns, which we discard (though it is not wasted because it is an excellent feed for cows and they enjoy it), the rest of the fruit is used entirely in dishes, such as crispy chips, jam, steamed dumplings, dessert, curries, stir fry, brazil nuts stir fry, and so on!
