Grow Almond in 3 Easy Steps

Almonds are not only delicious but, it is extremely nutritious as well. They usually grow in USDA zone 5-8 with California being largest commercial producer. Although commercial growers propagate via grafting growing almonds from the seeds is also possible.

Almonds are not only delicious but, it is extremely nutritious as well. They usually grow almonds in India and in the USDA zone 5-8 with California being largest commercial producer. Although commercial growers propagate via grafting growing almonds from the seeds is also possible. 

It isn’t simply the matter of planting cracked almond nuts, however. The almond germination does take a little time, know how to grow, propagating your own seed grown almond trees is definitely a fun project for novice/ avid home gardener.

3 Easy Steps to Grow Almonds At Home

Below are the three simple steps to grow almonds.

Step 1:

  • The very first is to buy a very good quality of Almond from market.

  • It is always better to identify healthy ones from a lot.

  • Soak it in the water for 24 hours straight.

  • Now, put some cinnamon in a bowl to avoid fungus or any other infestation.

Step 2:

  • The second step is to wrap these almonds in a moist tissue paper & store them in an airtight container for the refrigeration.

  • This box should be kept refrigerated between 0 to 10 degrees Celsius for days.

  • Once the almonds start to bear sprouts, they are ready to be transferred to the soil.

  • The plant will need the watering every 10 to 15 days, depending upon the moisture levels.

Step 3:

  • Now the third step is to add a mixture of vermicompost & cow dung to the soil.

  • As the mixture of sandy & clay soil also works well for the plant.

  • It is always best to plant them almost before the month of November, so it grows better by the March.
