Lynda and Stewart Resnick (America)

Lynda Stewart and her husband Stewart Resnick started out with growing almonds, oranges, and grapefruits. Today, they own $4 billion. More than have of Americans purchase their company’s famous products like Fiji Water, POM wonderful, and Halos mandarin oranges. Lynda Resnick was a marketing genius who dropped out of college just at the age of fifteen to start her own ad agency. It was through this ad agency that they met each other. Steward Resnick had purchased his first bit of land in California in 1978. It later on went to become a huge business empire.

Qin Yinglin (China)

Qin Yinglin has a net worth of $2 billion. He owns his family business, Muyuan Foodstuff. This company is China’s largest pig breeder. It is also a very important supplier of pork. Yinglin started his business with just 22 pigs in the year 1992. In just one year, his farm raises 10 million pigs and slaughters 5 million of them.

The Armer family is the richest family in New Zealand. They have made a fortune of $535 million by running a successful dairy farm. Their company, Dairy Holdings, is the largest dairy farming conglomerate in the country. They started their business with just one farm house in the 90s. Today, they own more than 58 dairy farms along with cattle grazing grounds.

Liu Yongxing (China)

With a net worth of $6.6 billion, Liu Yongxing holds the record of being the richest farmer in the world. In 1982, Yongxing, along with his siblings had formed a company called the Hope Group. The company split in the early 1990s and he then established his own company, East Hope Group. East Hope Group produces animal feeds for chicks, fish, ducks, pigs, and other farm animals. There are mostly famous in China but now they are also being exported to other countries like Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, and Indonesia

Although Yongxing is now counted among the richest people in the world, he had very humble beginnings. Yongxing and his brothers sold their personal items like watches and bicycles in order to collect money for investment. They started their business by breeding quails and chicken.

Harry Stine (America)

Harry Stine’s name also belongs in the list of the richest farmers in the world. He has a net worth of $3.5 billion. Stine made this huge fortune by licensing corn and soybean genetics to big multinational companies like Monsanto and Syngenta. Stine, the son of a farmer, was fascinated by seeds when he was growing up at their family farm.

Stine is a math genius and his company, Stine Seeds, is the largest private seed company in the world. Soybean seeds have less sprouting capacity, as explained by this farmer, and Stine went ahead and made the best soybean seeds.
