Mandi Updates: Wheat Prices Fall in Key Markets Across India

The wholesale prices of the staple grain wheat fell month-on-month across key markets of India according to the data by the Agmarknet portal, run by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. 

The average wholesale prices of wheat, as of February 23, fell month-on-month by Rs 119.83 per quintal to Rs 2,526.5 in February. Karnataka, amongst all the states, saw the largest decline in wholesale prices with prices plummeting by Rs 667 per quintal to Rs 3,257.

The month-on-month wholesale wheat prices in February fell in all the key mandis, except in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, where they rose marginally by Rs 11 and Rs 186, respectively. Prices of the cereal fell in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Delhi, and West Bengal. In Bihar and West Bengal, the prices fell only marginally in the range of Rs 2-3 per quintal.
