Mangoes are cultivated in India for more than 25 million years and are known as the king of fruits. It is worth mentioning that mangoes were first cultivated in India and are one of the most popular and delicious fruits.

According to USDA, one cup (165 g) of a mango contains- 

Energy- 99 kcal 

Protein- 1.35 g 

Carbohydrate- 24.7 g 

Dietary Fiber- 2.64 g 

Fat- 0.627 g 

Sugars- 22.5 g 

Mango is a rich source of vitamin C, vitamin A, folate, calcium, sodium, potassium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus and niacin. 

Besides being a delicious fruit, mangoes are packed with amazing health benefits that you must know. Here is a list of some of them. 

Nutritionist Mohan Mandal in his Instagram post says that mangoes are good to boost immunity and improve brain health. It helps to maintain a healthy heart and manage diabetes, and also works in controlling blood pressure and aids weight gain.

Immunity Booster 

Mangoes are packed with many vitamins and antioxidants. And consumption of an average-sized mango can fulfill up to two-third of the recommended daily need of vitamin C. And antioxidants in mango boosts the immunity.  

Reduces the Risk of Heart Diseases 

Mango contains fiber, potassium, and vitamins that help to keep the arteries working and reduce the risk of heart diseases. And including mangoes in your diet also helps to reduce body fat and control blood sugar levels. And being a rich source of beta-carotene, mangoes reduce the risk of heart diseases.  

Improve Eye Health 

Beta-carotene and vitamin A in mangoes improve eye health, as deficiency of vitamin A may lead to blindness. Mangoes are rich source of zeaxanthin, and invariably improve eye health. And lutein in mangoes also helps to improve eye health.
