Benefits of Amla Murraba & How To Prepare It

Amla, often known as Indian gooseberry, offers a number of health benefits, and here are a few reasons why you should incorporate it into your winter diet.

In winter, a sudden drop in temperature necessitates a change in the household menu. While warmer dishes and beverages will naturally be preferred, there are many more items that are ideal for the cold. Amla, commonly known as Indian gooseberries, is an indigenous ingredient with numerous health advantages. 

Amla is a fruit that may be ingested in a variety of ways and has a number of health benefits. It not only aids in the enhancement of immunity, but it also aids in the regulation of cholesterol levels. Murabbas is one of the most prevalent ways to consume amla. 

Before we get into the health advantages of amla as an ingredient, here's a fast recipe for the classic dish that practically acts as a pickle substitute. 

Ingredients:  

· 1 Kg amla 

· 2 tsp chemical lime 

· 1 1/2 kg sugar 

· 6 cups water 

· 1 tbsp lemon juice 

Recipe For Preparing Amla Murabba

· Prick the amla with a fork. Dissolve 1 tsp lime in water and soak the same overnight. 

· Wash the amla carefully after removing it. Repetition of the procedure is required. 

· After draining, wash thoroughly. Remove any residual lime by squeezing and rinsing. 

· Bring a pot of water to a boil and add the amla. 

· Cook until it is translucent and tender. 

· Drain the water and set it aside. 

· Make a syrup using the sugar, lemon juice, and 6 cups of water. 

· Remove any excess scum that has formed. 

· Add the amla, bring to a boil, and then simmer for 4-5 minutes on low heat. Allow it cool completely before storing in an airtight jar. 

· You can season it with elaichi or any other flavouring you choose.

· Amla is high in vitamin C, which is required by the body and aids in the development of immunity. 

· Amla is a low-fat, low-carbohydrate fruit. It aids in the regulation of cravings in addition to improving metabolism. 

· Amla is high in vitamin A, which helps to maintain eye health by reducing watering and itching. 

· It's high in antioxidants and vitamin A. As a result, Amla can be used as an anti-aging component. 

· Amla is high in important fatty acids, which help to maintain the health of the skin and hair.
