Sago, commonly known as Sabudana is a grain made from the milk of tapioca root. It looks like white pearls which are available in different sizes, small, medium, and large. Sabudana is commonly used as fasting food. It provides the required energy during the fasts.

  • Carbohydrates- 88.7 g

  • Fats- 0.02 g

  • Iron- 1.58 g

  • Calcium- 20 g

  • Potassium- 11 g

  • Phosphorus- 7 g

  • Sodium- 1 g

Health Benefits of Sabudana

1. Provides needed Energy- One of the prominent reasons to have sabudana during fasting is that it provides needed energy to the body fasting. Also, along with providing instant energy, sabudana provides a cooling effect to the body to reduce body’s heat while you are on fast.

2. Strengthens Bones- sabudana helps to improve the density of bones and also makes them strong, as it is rich in calcium, magnesium, and, iron. Sabudana also helps in reducing the risk of Osteoporosis and Arthritis.
