We all love milk and yogurt in different flavors. Isn’t it. But do you know that if we consume the two items together then it can be dangerous for our stomach. Let me tell you that there are many food combinations that are not good for you and one of them is milk and yoghurt. Today in this article we will tell you as to why we should not consume milk and yoghurt together.
Why We Must not Consume Yogurt and Milk Together
There are many reasons why you should avoid eating this combination. As now you all know, Yogurt is a fermented product and it shouldn’t be consumed with milk because it can block the roots or passages of the body, causing infections, stomach problems and poor health.
Different food combinations can play a vital role in maintaining your stomach health and also promotes great digestion and overall health. Although it is good to experiment in the kitchen but it is best to avoid mixing certain ingredients because their combination can cause serious damage to the stomach.
Combining two healthy foods cannot always lead to a healthy combination. In some cases, the combination of two incompatible foods can lead to gastrointestinal problems. One such example is milk and yogurt. Lovers of smoothies and lassi might want to hear this.
According to Ayurveda, there are certain combinations of foods that disrupt the normal functioning of the stomach and disrupt the balance of doshas. In Ayurveda, there are three basic doshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha, and good health are considered to be the perfect balance between these three doshas. Incorrect food combinations can cause indigestion, bloating, and gas formation.
But among all the incompatible food combinations, the most prominent is the combination of yogurt and milk, because we have long used them together to make smoothies and lassis, which are some of the healthiest and most nutritious beverages consumption.
Ayurveda expert Dr. Ashutosh Gautam explained: “Heavy, bitter yogurt increases the secretion of the body's glands. These properties of yogurt make it quite the opposite of the characteristic properties of milk, which is why in Ayurveda it is not recommended to combine the two.”
He also said, “No fermented product should be taken with milk as it will block the body's ducts or srootas and lead to infections, stomach problems and poor health.”
Hence if you are suffering from cramps, bloating or other stomach problems, it could be due to bad food combination and in this case it is best to avoid it.
