Due to a two-day nationwide strike, the State Bank of India's (SBI) operations are likely to be disrupted on March 28 and 29. As a result of numerous employee unions calling for a two-day strike, the country's main lender indicated that its banking services may be hampered to some level.

"While the bank has taken essential provisions to guarantee regular functioning in its branches and offices on strike days," SBI said in a regulatory filing, "work in our bank may be hampered to a limited extent by the strike."

The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI), and All India Bank Officers' Association (AIBOA) have issued notice of their decision to embark on a nationwide strike, according to the Indian Banks' Association (IBA).

The bank stated that it is unable to estimate the possible loss as a result of the strike.

On March 28-29, There Will Be a Nationwide Strike

The two-day countrywide strike was announced in protest of the government's plan to privatise public sector banks and the Banking Laws Amendment Bill 2021.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) called a nationwide strike last year to protest the proposed privatisation of public sector banks (PSBs).

On March 28, 29th, There Will Be a Bharat Bandh

A joint forum of central trade unions has called for a nationwide strike on March 28 and 29 to protest government policies that harm workers, farmers, and the general public.

Meanwhile, in response to trade unions' call for a nationwide bandh on March 28-29, the West Bengal administration said on Saturday that all offices will be open on those days and that employees must go to work.
