7th Pay Commission Latest Update: There is great news for Central Government employees. According to the most recent information, the Central government plans to refund their dearness allowance (DA) arrears, which have been lingering for the past 18 months, in January 2022. They will receive more than Rs 2 lakh in DA arrears in the New Year, according to calculations.

DA Arrears To Release In January 2022

According to the most recent report, the central government plans to release the Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears of Central Government employees, which have been pending for the past 18 months, in January 2022. According to the calculations, the employees will receive more than Rs 2 lakh as DA arrears this year.

Central Govt. Raised DA & DR to 31% 

According to various media reports, the Union Cabinet is planning to take the decision in its next meeting. Let us remind you that the central government raised the DA and DR from 17% to 31% in October of last year.

However, they have yet to get their dues. According to reports, the Union Cabinet has proposed a one-time settlement amount for DA dues that have been on hold for the past 18 months.

To Reduce Inflation, Increase Is Done Twice A Year

Employees and retirees receive Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief twice a year to reimburse them for inflation or general price increases. The DA hike was put on hold in May 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, on June 30, 2021, the Center began increasing the DA. However, no decision on the outstanding sum was made at the time. 

Cabinet To Take Decision Soon  

According to estimates, DA dues for Level-1 employees can range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554, while it can range from Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200 for Level-13 employees. The Union Cabinet is likely to make a decision on the DA arrears very soon.
