Good News for Govt Employees! 3% DA Hike in This City, Women to Receive Rs 1,500 Monthly

On Saturday, to commemorate the 76th Himachal Day, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu provided a distinctive present to government employees and women in the state administration. The Himachal Pradesh government has declared an increase in the dearness allowance for both workers and retirees.

What is the increased amount of DA?

More than 2.15 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh retirees have received a hike in dearness allowance after the Himachal Pradesh government's recent decision. It's worth noting that this decision follows similar increases in DA made by the federal government and certain state governments. The central government provides a 42% dearness allowance to its employees and pensioners, with a recent 4% hike for central employees.

What is the monthly stipend for women?

Following the increase in dearness allowance, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has fulfilled a promise from the Congress manifesto during the 2018 assembly elections. Starting in June 2023, a monthly payment of Rs. 1,500 will be given to all 9,000 women above the age of 18 in Spiti.

What are the additional announcements made by the CM?

Apart from the aforementioned announcements, the Himachal Pradesh government has declared the establishment of a 50-bed Community Health Center and a college in Kaza.

Additionally, they will be requesting the Ministry of Defense to construct an airfield at Rangrik in the Spiti Valley, alongside an observatory. A Rajiv Gandhi Day-Boarding School is also planned to be built near Kaza.
