"The change will assist unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and other workers in all scheduled employment under the Delhi government's support. The order will also assist clerical and supervisory staff," Sisodia added.

According to the deputy Chief minister, those working on minimum salaries in the unorganised sector should be eligible for Dearness Allowance, which is usually paid to state and central government employees.

Furthermore, the minimum wage rates for supervisors and clerical employees have been revised. Non-matriculated employees' monthly pay has increased from Rs 18,187 to Rs 18499, while matriculated employees' monthly wages have grown from Rs 20,019 to Rs 20,357. The monthly remuneration for graduates and those with higher educational levels have been increased from Rs 21,756 to Rs 22,146.

Hence Delhi government’s decision will definitely ease the financial burden of these workers.

The minister also claimed that the minimum wage paid to laborers in Delhi is the highest as compared to any other state in the country and the Delhi government continuously increases the dearness allowance every six months to give relief to all the workers of Delhi.

On 28 September, the Centre increased the DA and DR by 4 percent with effect from July 1, 2022, benefiting more than 41 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners.
