7th Pay Commission: Railway Employees to Get Festival Bonus! Here’s the Calculated Amount

Earlier the bonus was given equal to 72 days’ salary, but for the last few years, the bonus is being given on the basis of 78 days’ salary.

The government has given a big surprise to railway employees ahead of Dussehra! The Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Productivity Linked Bonus for 78 days.

The Productivity Linked Bonus in railways covers all non-gazetted railway employees (except RPF/RPSF personnel) spread across the country. According to an official statement, about 11.27 lakh non-gazetted railway employees will benefit from this decision.

Earlier the bonus was given equal to 72 days’ salary, but for the last few years, the bonus is being given on the basis of 78 days’ salary.

The official statement also cleared that the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) will act as an incentive for railway employees. The Railway ministry said that the railway employees played an important role in the Corona period. 

In a tweet, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the entire Railway Employees for approving the bonus in a tweet.

How much bonus will railway employees get?

Railway employees received this bonus last year as well. Since a railway employee gets a bonus of Rs 7000 per 30 days, in this situation, the employee will get a bonus of Rs 18000 for 78 days on Diwali.

Updates on DA Hike:

With effect starting on July 1, 2022, the government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) component for central government employees by 4%. The DA now stands at 38%.

The government has increased the dearness relief (DR) for retirees by the same proportion in addition to the DA increase. The increase in DA will help central government workers, pensioners, and family pensioners who receive central government pensions.
