You will pay Rs. 1 for a litre of petrol, and 50 paise less for a litre of diesel. In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, you may exchange used milk pouches and water bottles at a petrol pump.

Chhaganlal Bagtawarmal on Chittor Road owner Ashok Kumar Mundra urges customers to refrain from using single-use plastics (SUPs). He began a three-month awareness campaign on July 15 with support from Saras Dairy, the Bhilwara district administration, and the pollution control board.

Saras Dairy has agreed to get rid of the empty pouches gathered at the petrol pump.

"The owner of the petrol station presented a plan to raise awareness about SUPs. He provided discounts on empty Saras Dairy milk pouches and water bottles. The campaign has already begun, "Ashish Modi, the Bhilwara Collector, stated.

Nearly 700 milk pouches, according to Mundra, have been gathered.

"If someone delivers a one-liter milk pouch, two half-liter pouches, or a one-liter water bottle, I would give a discount of Rs. 1 per litre on petrol and Rs. 50 per litre on diesel. These bags are gathered at the petrol station and handed to Sara's Dairy for disposal, "Mundra said.

"To raise awareness about the use of plastic and polythene, I started this campaign. In addition to harming the environment, polythene and plastic represent a hazard to stray animals, especially cows, thus I'd like to see Bhilwara become a plastic- and polythene-free city " he said.

Mundra claimed that he expected to collect at least 10,000 pouches in a month and that his expectations had not been fulfilled.

"The amount is really small. The monsoon season reduces the amount of people using the petrol stations. Now that the campaign will last for six months, "added said.

Pouches and bottles are gathered at the gas station in Mundra and left nearby. Later, the dairy gets them.

Mundra stated that he will ask Saras Dairy to begin collecting empty pouches at its booths located across the city and that in exchange, customers will be given coupons that may be used at the petrol pump within six months.

He stated, "This will be more beneficial for individuals.

According to Vipin Sharma, MD of Saras Dairy's Bhilwara Dairy unit, if Mundra suggests, the campaign's reach could be expanded.
