The rising number of tractors purchased in Chhattisgarh indicates that the state's farmers are thriving, as a tractor is a symbol of a farmer's economic wealth.

Tractor sales in the state increased by roughly 5% last year. In the previous three years, more than 76,000 tractors have been sold in the state.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused havoc on the country's economy, with people losing their jobs and their salaries falling. The situation is, however, gradually improving. Farmers' conditions are improving in Chhattisgarh as well, and they are becoming financially prosperous.

According to official data, Chhattisgarh acquired 25,607 tractors for agricultural use in 2019. (Between January and December). However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020, the number of tractors sold fell to 24,590.

Farmers' interest in agriculture has grown, according to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, which has contributed to an increase in demand for banking services. In addition, the state's farmers are thriving, and people are buying vehicles.

The number of showrooms for tractors, cars, bikes, and other vehicles has expanded, as has the number of tractors, cars, bikes, and other vehicles on the market. They're opening quickly, which is a good sign, according to Baghel.

The first year was spent in elections, and the second year was spent in corona; plans were made, and they are now being implemented, according to the Chief Minister. "I am pleased that our programs are being implemented on the ground and that people are receiving immediate benefits."

According to data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, the state's unemployment rate is likewise low (CMIE). In May, the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh was only 0.7 percent, while the national unemployment rate was 7.1 percent. Even in 2022, Chhattisgarh had the lowest unemployment rate in the country, at 0.6 percent.

The waiver of farmers' loans and the pending irrigation tax, according to those who study agriculture and rural employment, have started to change the situation.

Similarly, the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Gramin Bhumihin Krishi Majdur Nyay Yojana, new industrial strategy, improved collection of forest and agricultural output, local processing, and value addition were introduced. The villages' economic situation has improved as a result of this.

According to official figures, almost Rs 11,180 crore has been sent to farmer bank accounts under the Rajiv Gandhi Nyay Yojana in the last two years. The Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumihin Krishi Majdur Nyay Yojana, on the other hand, has benefitted 3.5 lakh farmers.

In addition, the Godhan Nyay Yojana provided Rs 226 crore to SHGs and Rs 133 crore to Gauthan Samitis. Rs 90,000 crore has been placed in the bank accounts of farmers over the last three years.

Cattle day care homes, known as Gauthans, are being built in villages as part of the Godhan Nyay Yojana, and have become job centers for women. Cow dung is sold here for Rs 2 per kg. Apart from that, cow dung is used to make vermicompost.
