Delhi's Scorching Temperatures Ease Slightly, Relief Still Days Away

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, forecasting rain showers for the next six days. The monsoon's arrival in Delhi is anticipated between June 27th and 30th, bringing intense thunderstorms and rain for a brief period.

Monsoon on the Horizon, Bringing Hope for Relief:

While Delhi waits for the monsoon's arrival, there is positive news across other parts of India. The monsoon season has had a sluggish start, with rainfall deficiencies in most regions.

However, conditions are becoming increasingly favorable for the monsoon's advance across several key regions. States like Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Uttar Pradesh can expect the arrival of the monsoon within the next two days.

Relief Expected by Month's End:

The IMD predicts Delhi's maximum temperature to remain below 40°C for the rest of June, dropping to 36°C by June 29th due to increased rainfall. The minimum temperature may fall to 25°C by June 29th and further to 23°C by the end of the month, offering some relief from the prolonged heat.

Odisha Braces for Heavy Rainfall:

While Delhi anticipates the monsoon's arrival, Odisha is preparing for heavy rainfall starting June 26th due to an active cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. Several districts are expected to receive heavy rainfall until June 28th. The IMD has issued a yellow warning for nine districts and advised caution due to potential thunderstorms with lightning and strong winds.
