On August 26, 2021, the government launched the e-Shram portal for the workers in the country. Recently over 8 crores, unorganized workers have registered in the e-shram portal. Farmers are now curious whether they are eligible to register on the e-shram portal or not.

Only agriculture laborers and landless farmers are eligible for registration in the e-SHRAM portal, according to the official website of e-shram. Other farmers are not eligible to register on the e-shram portal.

Workers who have registered on the e-Shram portal should be aware that they will be enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), with the Ministry of Labor and Employment covering the first year's premium.

The various advantages of registering on this e-shram portal must be understood. The unorganized worker will receive an Accidental Insurance cover of Rs.2 lakhs under PMSBY after registering. All unorganized worker social security benefits will be delivered through this portal in the future. This database could be used to provide necessary assistance to eligible unorganized workers in emergency and pandemic-like situations.

Aadhaar number, bank account details, and Aadhaar linked mobile number are now required documents for self-enrolment.

 If one wants to enroll through CSC, the following documents will be required: Aadhaar number and bank account information. It should be noted that CSC registration is completely free.

Those who have not yet registered can do so by following a few simple steps;

  • Go to eshram.gov.in to access the official website.

  • On the home page, click the link that says "Register on e-SHRAM."

  • Click on Send OTP after entering the Aadhaar-linked mobile number and captcha code.

  • Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process.

It should be noted that if a worker does not have an Aadhaar-linked mobile number, he or she can register through biometric authentication at the nearest CSC.

Interested people can visit the official website at eshram.gov.in if they have any questions or need additional information.
