FAO Internship Opportunity 2022

Food And Agriculture Organization (FAO) is inviting applications for FAO Internship Program 2022. Students from all across the world can apply for this internship. Undergraduate, Graduate or Post Graduate degrees in different fields are welcome to contribute their knowledge and gain practical experience. This Internship Opportunity will be a great learning experience for all.  

The best part about this internship is that you will not have to go for any language test like TOEFL/IELTS. The duration of the internship will be between 3 to 11 months. Interns shall have to devote between 35 and 40 hours per week. The interested students are requested to keep checking the official internship portal. 

FAO Internship 2022: Stipend 

Interns will receive a Stipend in local currency and not exceed US$ 700 ~ Rs 50000 per month. In this amount, the interns can easily manage the other expenses. Medical coverage related to service-incurred is also provided.

FAO Internship 2022: Eligibility 

Nationality: Candidates must be nationals of FAO Members. 

Education: Candidates must be students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate or recent graduates in the field of Agriculture, Fishery, Forestry and Animal Science, Economics, Business, Management and Finance, International Affairs, Society Studies. 

Languages: candidates must have a working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian). 

Age: Candidates should be aged between 21 and 30 at the start of their internship. 

Skills: Candidates should be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment, have good communication skills, and be knowledgeable in the use of basic computer programs. 

Family Relation: Candidates with family members (defined as brother, sister, mother, father) employed by FAO under any type of contract are not eligible for the Internship Programme. 

What are the tasks performed by the selected for the FAO Internship? 

The activities performed vary according to the opening and the requirements of the different departments to which interns are allocated. However, generally speaking, the main duties are: 

  • Carry out research relevant to the agency’s activities;

  • Write and review reports, documents and publications;

  • Provide administrative and operational support;

  • Help organize events and conferences;

  • Take part in training programs with other staff members.

FAO Internship 2022: Locations

There are openings for FAO Headquarters in Rome (Italy), but opportunities may also be available for its various Regional and Liaison Offices around the world. 

Regional and Europe Offices: Ghana (Africa), Thailand (Asia and the Pacific), Hungary (Europe and Central Asia), Chile (Latin America and the Caribbean), Egypt (Near East), Brussels, Portugal, Madrid and Geneva. 

Subsequent Employment:

Participation in the internship is not related to future employment with the agency. However, the work experience in the agency will be a distinctive feature in your curriculum, which may facilitate your hiring by other organizations inside or outside the UN System.
