Good News! Rice Bran Oil and Soyabean Oil Becomes Cheaper

The government on Wednesday ordered edible oil manufacturers to further slash the maximum retail price (MRP) of edible oils by up to Rs 10 per litre within a week after which Mother Dairy has cut the prices of rice bran, soyabean oils by up to Rs 14 per litre.

It is important to mention that besides milk, mother dairy sells edible oils under the brand ‘Dhara’ in Delhi-NCR.

Dhara Refined Soybean Oil (Poly Pack) will now cost Rs. 180 per litre against its previous cost i.e., Rs. 194 rupees per. On the other hand, the cost of Dhara Refined Rice bran Oil (Poly Pack) was slashed to Rs. 185 from Rs. 194 per litre.

A company spokesperson told media that ''Passing on the benefits of the government's intervention subsequently to the costumers, we have further slashed the MRP of Dhara Soyabean Oil & Dhara Ricebran Oil by up to Rs 14 per litre that will be available in the market by next week''.

In the upcoming 15 to 20 days, it expects a decrease in the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) of sunflower oil.

Due to lower rates in international markets, Mother Dairy on June 16 lowered the price of their cooking oils by up to 15 per litre. The edible oil manufacturers had cut prices by up to Rs 10 to 15 / litre in June and before that had also reduced the MRP taking cues from the international market.

The government issued a directive to edible oil producers on Wednesday to further reduce the maximum retail price (MRP) of imported cooking oils by up to 10 per litre within a week and maintain a consistent MRP of the same brand of oil throughout the nation. This directive followed a decline in global prices.
