Govt Increases Daily Wage Rates Under MNREGA By Up To 10.4% For FY24

During FY24, the revised wages for several states and union territories range from 221 per day (Chhattisgarh/Madhya Pradesh) to 357 (Haryana).
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Karnataka, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry are the states and union territories where pay increases for FY24 are less than 5%. According to the government's revised estimate, spending on MGNREGA will increase to Rs 89,400 crore this fiscal year, up from Rs 73,000 crore previously budgeted. The government has budgeted Rs 60,000 crore for FY24, but finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stated that additional funds will be granted if necessary.
