How to change or update address on your Aadhaar card online

Changing the address on your Aadhaar card online is now simple. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has created a direct connection for Aadhaar card holders to update their addresses online. The UIDAI tweeted the direct link, ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and encouraged Aadhaar users to update their addresses and KYC documents online.

Changing the address on your Aadhaar card online is now simple. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has created a direct link for Aadhaar card holders to update their addresses online. The UIDAI tweeted the direct link, ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and encouraged Aadhaar users to update their addresses and KYC documents online. 

"You can now update your address in your Aadhaar online through Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/" the UIDAI said, advising Aadhaar card holders to use the self-service update portal. 

Documents needed for changing address on your Aadhaar card: 

The UIDAI also states that certain documents must be presented when using the self-service update portal to update one's Aadhaar card online. According to the UIDAI website, there are 32 proof of identity papers that can be scanned and uploaded during an online Aadhaar card address update. Passport, PAN card, ration/PDS photo card, voter ID, driving license (DL), and other documents are among the 32 Aadhaar card address change documents. 

Process for changing address on Aadhaar card online: 

To change the address on an Aadhaar card online, go to the direct self-service update portal ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/ and follow the on-screen instructions. 

The following is a step-by-step procedure to changing the address on your Aadhaar card: 

- Log in at, ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/, which is the direct UIDAI url. 

- 'Proceed to Update Aadhaar' should be selected. 

- Enter your 12-digit UID number here. 

- Enter the captcha code or security code. 

- Select 'Send OTP' option. 

- Your Aadhaar-registered cellphone number will receive an OTP. 

- After obtaining the OTP, enter it. 

- 'Login' should be clicked. 

- The details from your Aadhaar card will be shown. Change your address and provide a scan of any of the 32 credentials that confirm your ID and address proof. 

The address on your Aadhaar card will be altered online. The status of the Aadhaar card address change can be verified by checking the Aadhaar card address change status.
