According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rainfall will continue in Delhi today. Meanwhile, rain is also likely at various regions of Uttar Pradesh, including Mathura, Aligarh, Hathras, Agra and other places.

A red warning has been issued in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand due to severe rains. The Badrinath Yatra has been suspended as a precautionary measure.

The death toll in Kerala's flash floods and landslides climbed to 22 on Sunday, with 13 bodies recovered in Kottayam district and nine in Idukki during the last two days. After a day of devastation on Saturday, the rain remained muted on Sunday. Rainfall is expected in the next three to four days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Kerala Rain Update

The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Kozhikode districts.

On October 17 and 18, at least four trains travelling from Tamil Nadu to Kerala and from Kerala to Tamil Nadu would be partially cancelled.

Red Alert in Uttarakhand

The India Meteorological Department has also issued a red alert for Uttarakhand, predicting severe to extremely heavy rainfall in the state. "Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rains quite possible over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh," IMD stated.

The IMD also stated that the temperature has fallen across the district, particularly in the Pipalkoti, Ghat, and Pokhari regions, as well as the district headquarters in Gopeshwar. Snowfall has also fallen in higher-altitude regions.

In a tweet yesterday, the IMD stated that thunderstorms and heavy rainfall activity would be seen in Uttarakhand and other states as a result of interaction with low-level easterlies.

"Thunderstorms and heavy rain were reported in Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana on 17th and 18th as a result of WD interaction with low-level easterlies. The low-pressure system above Telangana is causing clouds to move over West UP and southeast Haryana starting this afternoon "It stated.
