IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall/ Thunderstorms Till 22 July in All These States

For the next three days, there will be isolated rainfall activity with thunderstorms and lightning in the Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh regions. From July 19 to July 21, there will be widespread to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls, thunderstorms, and lightning in several Indian states.

Very heavy rain will fall in Himachal Pradesh on July 20 and in Uttarakhand from July 19 to July 21.

Over the next five days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts widespread to moderately widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning in Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Kerala, Mahe, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

This occurs as a depression that formed on Saturday morning 100 km west of the Porbandar coast is forecast to weaken and move westward toward the coast of Oman during the next 48 hours. Furthermore, north Odisha and the surrounding area are under a low-pressure system.

Its influence is expected to cause occasional heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from July 18 to 21; Vidarbha on July 19; coastal Karnataka on July 18; north interior Karnataka on July 18; Konkan and Goa on July 18 and 19; and Kerala and Mahe from July 18 to 21.

Additionally, on July 19, isolated very severe rainstorms are also predicted for west Madhya Pradesh, coastal and southern interior Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha.

Over the next five days, rain is anticipated in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana in scattered to widespread quantities.

In Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal for the next five days, isolated rainfall is likely. On July 17, there will be isolated falls in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, as well as in Gujarat, Marathawada, and Telangana on July 18, Tamil Nadu from July 18 to 19, and Madhya Maharashtra on July 17 and 18.

In Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand over the next three days, there may be isolated thunderstorms or lightning along with light to moderate rain that is scattered to widely distributed. From July 18 to July 21, the area will have broad to somewhat widespread rainfall with a few isolated heavy spots of rain.

Very heavy rain will fall in Himachal Pradesh on July 20 and in Uttarakhand from July 19 to July 21.

Over west Rajasthan on July 17 and over east Rajasthan from July 18 to 20, there may be widespread mild to moderate rainfall with a few isolated heavy spots of rain.

Over the next five days, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may see widespread mild to moderate rainfall with heavy falls. Between July 18 and July 21, isolated, very heavy falls are also possible over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.
