Heavy Rainfall In Several States

Weather news: For the next three days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow alert in Telangana. The weather department predicts hailstorms and heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Telangana over the next three days.

According to the Scientist at the Meteorological Centre in Hyderabad, mild to moderate rain or thunderstorms are anticipated across various regions in Telangana during the next two days.

IMD Issues yellow alert

The IMD issued a yellow alert for three days as hailstorm and heavy rain are very likely to occur in isolated areas of Telangana's Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal Rural, Warangal Urban, Janagaon, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, and Nagarkurnool districts.

The weather in Hyderabad today will remain cloudy.  On Thursday, January 13, Hyderabad woke up to cloudy skies in the morning, as unseasonal rains drenched certain sections of the city.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in areas of the city throughout the next 24 hours. Surface winds are expected to be Easterly/South-Easterly, with wind speeds ranging from 6 to 10 km/h. For the next 24 hours, maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively

The trough from 'South interior Karnataka to South Chhattisgarh' is presently flowing at 0.9 km above mean sea level between north interior Karnataka and interior Odisha.

Rainfall likely in these states

On Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects 'light' to 'moderate' rainfall in six states: Odisha, Sikkim, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Furthermore, the meteorological service has forecast isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during the next two days.

For the next five days, isolated light rainfall/thundershower is likely across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe due to the impact of a cyclonic circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and another over south Tamil Nadu in lower tropospheric levels.

In addition, isolated light rain or snowfall is expected across higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Friday.

According to the IMD, cold wave conditions will persist across India's north and central regions for the next three days.

"Cold wave conditions are highly possible in isolated areas over northeast Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, and West Madhya Pradesh over the next three days. During the next two days, there will be isolated pockets of cold weather across Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West UP, Madhya Pradesh, and north Rajasthan "It was announced on Twitter.
