IMD Predicts Severe Cold & Dense Fog Over Northern India for Next 2 Days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued the most recent weather forecast on Thursday, predicting dense fog conditions in isolated pockets throughout Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during the next two days- February 4th and 5th.
"Dense Fog conditions in isolated pockets in the night and morning hours highly probable over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi on during the next two days," according to a statement issued by the IMD on its official Twitter handle.
In the coming two days, many changes including rain, increase in temperature and strong wind are likely to be seen, said the IMD's prediction.
At present, the minimum temperature is still below normal. The new Western Disturbance, which is expected to influence Western Himalayas, may raise minimum temperatures throughout Northwest India, including Haryana and Delhi NCR.
In certain parts of Haryana, the night temperature is expected to reach 10.0 degrees Celsius.
On February 4, there is a chance of scattered rain. Following the passage of the Western Disturbance and the end of rainy activities, the minimum temperatures in Haryana, Delhi, and the National Capital Region (NCR) may begin to fall once again, resulting in the onset of cold winds in the morning and night. According to the current forecast, the day will turn sunny with clear sky and the weather will be cold but pleasant.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital at 10 a.m. was 318, putting it in the very poor category.
According to the Ministry of Earth and Sciences' air quality and weather bulletin, the AQI is likely to remain in the 'poor' to 'moderate' category on Friday and Saturday.
As per IMD, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius at 1:27 pm today while the maximum is expected to touch 17 degrees Celsius.
