IMD Predicts Severe Heatwave, Rainfall, and Thunderstorm in These States; Check Full Forecast Inside
According to the IMD, northern states will continue to experience heat waves, while N-E and several states in South India may have scattered showers.
The Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday said that a fresh heatwave is likely over isolated parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Saurashtra, and Kutch. Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning / gusty winds (40-50 km per hour) at isolated places very likely over Assam, Meghalaya with lightning / gusty winds (30-40 km per hour) at isolated places very likely over Telangana and with lightning over Uttarakhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, Goa, Rayalseema, Karnataka, Kerala-Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) in isolated locations are extremely likely over Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rayalseema, and Kerala-Mahe. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas across Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Heavy Rainfall Likely in These States
Heavy rain is expected in isolated areas in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Moderately widespread Rainfall is expected to continue over North-East India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal - Sikkim, and South Peninsular India and the islands, with isolated to scattered light rainfall.
A new western disturbance is expected to hit Northwest India on April 19th. Light to moderate isolated/scattered rainfall is anticipated over the western Himalayan area and neighboring plains of northwest India between April 19 and April 21, 2022, under its impact. Over the rest of the country, dry weather is expected.
