IMD Report: No More Rainfall But Colder Days Ahead For These States

After Tuesday, the northwest and central India may not have any more rainy days this week, however the area, including Delhi-NCR, will continue to experience chilly weather, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday a "gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 3-5 degree Celsius" over most of those areas over the next five days. 

In its impact-based climate forecast, the Met department stated that "cold day to extreme cold day conditions" are very likely in some pockets over west Madhya Pradesh over the next three days; over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and East Madhya Pradesh over the next three days; and over Uttarakhand, West Uttar Pradesh, Saurashtra, and Kutch over the next two days. 

On its impression, the IMD flagged “an elevated chance” of assorted sicknesses like flu, working/stuffy nostril or nosebleed, which normally set in or get aggravated because of extended publicity to chilly. 

Although "remote mild rainfall" is probable across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours (Tuesday), the climate is expected to be "dry" earlier than a recent "western disturbance" that is expected to have an impact on the western Himalayan area from January 29. 

Meanwhile, various locations may also experience cold weather. Chilly wave to extreme chilly wave conditions are probable in isolated pockets across Saurashtra and Kutch during the next two days, as well as over Rajasthan on January 27-28. Similarly, chilly wave conditions are highly likely over the Gujarat region during the next four days; over Rajasthan during the next five days; over west Uttar Pradesh on January 27-29, over north Madhya Maharashtra on January 26-27, and over east Uttar Pradesh on January 28-29. 

Throughout the next two days, the scenario could deliver dense fog in Punjab, Delhi-NCR, and western Uttar Pradesh.

The IMD stated that it could "affect some airports, highways, and railway routes" in met- subdivisions such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi; West Uttar Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, and East Rajasthan.
