Celebrate this Kisan Diwas by sending special quotes & wishes to farmers

Every year on December 23, India celebrates National Farmers' Day, or Kisan Diwas, to honor farmers and their contributions to the country's economy. The day marks the birth anniversary of Choudhary Charan Singh, India's fifth Prime Minister.

Singh was a farmer's leader who implemented several policies to better the life of Indian farmers. The day is observed to honor the contributions of Indian farmers and to highlight their significance in the country. This year's celebration will take place against the backdrop of the repeal of three contentious farm laws.

The government of India recognized December 23, the day Chaudhary Charan Singh was born, as National Farmers' Day in 2001, and for all the right reasons.

Here's How to Celebrate Kisan Diwas:

Buy Directly from a Farmer

The majority of the income and gains from farmers' produce go to retailers, businesses, and the government; farmers are generally underpaid. Try to purchase straight from the farmer instead because often farmers or their families travel to the city to sell their produce at marketplaces.

Visit a farm

Visit any farms in your area if you have the chance. Say "thank you" to your local farmers for their hard work and commitment. Bring your kids along if you can, and make the visit educational.

Plant a Vegetable/ Fruit

Sow some seeds of your choice to make the day enjoyable. It can be anything you like, including tomatoes, peas, berries, etc.

Here are some Kisan Diwas quotes and wishes for you to share:

Kisan Diwas quotes:

"Dirt is not a waste to a farmer; it is wealth." - Amit Kalantri

"The invention of agriculture was the first significant step toward a civilized life." Arthur Keith

"Agriculture not only gives riches to a nation but the only riches she can call her own." -Samuel Johnson

"A farmer is a magician who creates money from the mud." - Amit Kalantri

"If agriculture fails, nothing else in the country has a chance to succeed." - M. S. Swaminathan

Kisan Diwas wishes:

They are the ones which pour their hearts and souls into the earth in order to give it life and provide us with sustenance. Let us appreciate them for their efforts and recognize their dedication. Happy Farmers' Day!

Kisan Diwas serves as a reminder to everyone that we must respect, honor and appreciate our farmers who work tirelessly to provide us with food.

Farmers are the real heroes because with their dedication and effort, they turn barren land into a land that produces food. Let us salute them on Farmers' Day.

Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan! Desh ki mitti ko apne khoon pasene se jo seenche woh hai kisan!

The best way to respect a farmer is to respect his produce by not wasting it. Happy Farmers Day.

We at Krishi Jagran believe that "annadata nahi to hum nahi". For us, farmers have always been the first priority. Hence on this special day we would like to thank our annadatas for just everything.
