Landless Labourers to Get 6000 Yearly Under This Govt. Scheme; First Installment to Be Disbursed on Jan 26

Chhattisgarh government has announced the disbursement of the first installment of one of its schemes to benefit the laborers. It has decided to disburse the first installment of "Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhoomiheen Kisan Mazdoor Yojana" to landless laborers and those who work in traditional professions on January 26 as part of yet another Nyay Yojana.

What is Nyay Yojana? 

Last year, the Nyay Yojana was established, under which landless laborers and those working in traditional occupations will be compensated Rs 6000 per year. Until the deadline of 30 November 2021, more than 4,41,000 workers have signed up for the scheme. 

The applications were examined once they were registered. Officials stated that the final beneficiary list will be released soon. 

The 'Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazduur Yojana' was started in 2021 to provide grants to agricultural laborers, landless laborers, and those working in traditional jobs. The eligible laborers were to be given a lump sum payment of Rs. 6,000 via direct bank transfers. 

Other Schemes 

The Bhupesh Baghel government introduced the "Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana" to provide agriculture input subsidies to farmers after taking power in December 2018. It was also intended to make good on a promise to pay Rs 2500 per quintal for paddy acquired under the minimum support price plan by using the difference in MSP underneath this Nyay Yojana. 

Later, the Congress government created the 'Godhan Nyay Yojana,' a one-of-a-kind initiative in which the state buys cow manure from cattle ranchers for Rs two per kilogram. Farmers and other landless individuals benefit from the scheme since cow manure is sold for vermicomposting and then utilised as organic manure.
