Madhya Pradesh Will Soon Allocate Free Residential Plots to Families

The Madhya Pradesh government has proposed a scheme to distribute free plots of land to families that do not own one so that they can live a decent life.

The state government would grant plots to families that do not have property to build their own homes under the Mukhyamantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojna, according to the official from public relations department. 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the scheme at a meeting on Thursday, saying it will pave the way for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. 

The state government has released guidelines for distribution of plots in rural regions under the Mukhyamantri Awasiya Bhu-adhikar Yojna, he added. 

Chouhan stated that the scheme was implemented with the goal of guaranteeing that every family has the right to a decent existence with basic requirements, and that a residential plot will assist families acquire loans from government schemes and banks. 

The scheme was launched to provide qualified families with residential plots on Abadi land in each Gram Panchayat. 

District collectors have been given authority over the availability of Abadi land under the scheme and the maximum area of the plot for allocation will be 60 square meters. 

According to the chief minister, a family must consist of a couple and their unmarried children, and families who live in a certain hamlet would be eligible for the scheme. 

Applications for residential plots must be submitted online using the SAARA portal, he explained. 

It was stated that village-wise lists of eligible families under the scheme will be published for the purpose of receiving objections and recommendations from concerned villagers, and that the time period would not be shorter than 10 days. 

Eligible applicants will be provided land ownership rights in the joint names of husband and wife based on availability, with no premium charged for plot allocation. The commissioner of revenue will review the applications and cases that are accepted, according to the official.
