'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' 2024 Held at Khordha, Odisha Empowers Farmers for a Prosperous Bharat

The 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav,' organized by Krishi Jagran at KVK-Khordha, Odisha, united farmers and industry experts to discuss innovations in agriculture under the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat.'

On June 11, 2024, Krishi Jagran hosted the 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Khordha, Odisha. The event, centered on the theme 'Maximizing Farmers' Income for a Prosperous Bharat,' aimed to bring together progressive farmers and industry experts to discuss and implement the latest agricultural practices and innovations. The focus of the discussions included topics such as farm machinery, tractor industry, and the experiences of farmers. Dr. Harapriya Nayak, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK-Khordha, graced the event as the special guest.  

Held at the KVK-Khordha, ICAR-CIFA auditorium in Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the event was supported by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as the knowledge partner. the event drew over 200 farmers from various backgrounds, showcasing a spirit of community development and knowledge sharing.

The 'MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav' provided a crucial platform for farmers to share ideas, showcase innovations, and build valuable connections. The event commenced with participant registration and a welcome address by Dr. P R Sahoo, SMS (FY), KVK-Khordha, setting the tone for a day of insightful discussions and stories.

The inaugural ceremony featured the ceremonial lighting of a lamp, followed by the ICAR song, symbolizing the enlightenment of the agricultural sector. 

During the event, Chief Guest, Dr. P.K. Sahoo, the Director of ICAR-CIFA in Bhubaneswar, commended KVK-Khordha for their exemplary organization of events. He highlighted their dedication to spreading agricultural technologies, which play a crucial role in boosting farm income and improving the socio-economic status of the farming community.

Dr. Harapriya Nayak, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK-Khordha at ICAR-CIFA in Bhubaneswar, provided an overview of the program and highlighted the significance of celebrating Samridh Kisan Utsav across India.

Surendra Singh, SMS (CP) at KVK-Khordha, discussed advancements in farm machinery, while Santosh Mitra, State Head (Mahindra Tractors), Odisha, spoke about the strategy and scope of Mahindra Tractors in Odisha and shared experiences of Mahindra family farmers.

In recognition of their achievements and contributions, progressive farmers were awarded certificates by Surendra Singh, SMS (CP), KVK-Khordha. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sukanti Behera, CTO (H.Sc), KVK-Khordha, followed by a group photograph, marking a successful day dedicated to empowering the farming community and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

Other prominent attendees included Santosh Mitra, State Head (Mahindra Tractors), Odisha; Subhra Mohanty, Regional Manager, Krishi Jagran.

The big day also introduced farmers to new agricultural techniques and facilitated the exchange of ideas among peers. Participants learned about the 'Millionaire Farmer of India' Awards initiative by Krishi Jagran, gaining valuable insights into the MFOI program. Mahindra Tractors took the opportunity to showcase their latest models, including the Mahindra 3140 OJA, demonstrating their commitment to supporting agricultural development in Khordha, Odisha.
