The PM Kisan Yojana, a flagship scheme introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has brought relief to millions of farmers by providing financial support. On October 5th, the government released the 18th installment of this scheme, distributing Rs 2,000 each to more than 9.4 crore farmers across India. However, despite the timely transfer, some beneficiaries have reported not receiving their payments. If you’re one of them, here’s a guide on what steps you can take.

What is the PM Kisan Yojana?

Launched in February 2019, the PM Kisan Yojana aims to provide financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmers, split into three installments of Rs 2,000 each. This scheme uses Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to deposit the amount directly into farmers' bank accounts, ensuring transparency and efficiency. The government intends to support the livelihood of landholding farmers and help them meet their agricultural needs.

Why Haven’t You Received the 18th Installment?

If you’re facing a delay in receiving your installment, there could be several reasons behind it. Most notably:

  1. KYC Not Completed: The government has made it mandatory for farmers to complete their eKYC (Know Your Customer) to continue receiving benefits. If you haven’t updated your KYC, this could be the reason for the delay. Farmers can easily complete this by visiting a Common Service Centre or through an OTP-based process from the comfort of their homes.

  2. Invalid Bank Details: Mistakes like an incorrect IFSC code or invalid bank account details can cause delays in receiving payments.

  3. Aadhaar Card Issues: Your Aadhaar card must be linked to your bank account. If there’s a mismatch or the Aadhaar isn’t linked, the payment will not be processed.

  4. Other Common Errors: Closed bank accounts, blocked or frozen accounts, or incorrect information entered during the application can also cause delays.

Steps to Resolve Your Issue

If you have not received your installment, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Your Beneficiary Status: Ensure your name is listed on the beneficiary list by visiting the PM Kisan website or app. You can use your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account details to check your status.

  2. Verify eKYC: Complete the eKYC process if you haven’t already. You can do this online using the PM Kisan portal or by visiting a Common Service Centre.

  3. Check Bank Details: Make sure that your bank account details, including IFSC code, are correct. If you’ve changed your bank account, update the information in the PM Kisan portal.

  4. File a Complaint: If everything seems correct but you still haven’t received your installment, you can register a complaint.
