PM Ujjwala Yojana: Government to Distribute Free Gas Cylinders Under Third Phase of PMUY
It is important to mention that no Aadhaar card will be needed to take benefit from this scheme for people living in Meghalaya and Assam.
PMUY scheme: Good News for LPG consumers, the government is distributing free gas cylinders under the third phase of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme.
As per details, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Garo Hills, Tura (Meghalaya) said that all the beneficiaries of Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) under NFSA will get LPG cylinder free of cost under the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) scheme.
In this regard, all the beneficiaries of AAY and PHH have been notified to take the benefits of the scheme.
The application forms or KYC forms can be obtained from the nearest LPG retail outlet. The important documents required to avail free LPG cylinder include a photocopy of the voter ID card, a photocopy of AAY/PHH card, a copy of State Bank of India zero-balance bank account, and 1 passport-size photo.
Aadhaar card not needed for PM Ujjwala Yojana
It is important to mention that no Aadhaar card will be needed to take benefit from this scheme for the beneficiaries living in Meghalaya and Assam.
For more details, the beneficiaries can contact the nearest LPG retail outlets. The inspecting officials of the Supply Department in Tura have been asked to carefully monitor the distribution of free LPG cylinders at various retail outlets and accordingly submit their reports to the office of the Deputy Commissioner every month.
In July, the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli told the Lok Sabha that PMUY recipients used 31,47,52,219 LPG refills in FY22. Besides this, 5,41,22,389 PMUY beneficiaries only requested four refills during the previous fiscal year.
