PMFBY Latest Update: Mobile Van being used for widespread publicity of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

Mobile van is being used for widespread publicity of Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme in Jalore district of Rajasthan. This mobile van is going to all the gram panchayats and patwari circles of the district and making the farmers aware of crop insurance. Wheat, gram, mustard, taramira, cumin and isabgol crops have been notified for Jalore district under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme.

PMFBY update: Now a mobile van is being used for widespread publicity of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in Jalore district of Rajasthan. This mobile van is going to all the gram panchayats and patwari circles of the district and making the farmers aware of crop insurance. Wheat, gram, mustard,  cumin and isabgol crops have been notified for Jalore district under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

The terms and conditions;

Bajaj Alliance General Insurance Company Limited has been authorized for the implementation of crop insurance in Jalore district. Under the scheme, borrowers can take insurance of crop loans, non-loanee farmers, and sharecroppers. The farmer can insure the crop from a single bank or institution. In any case, double insurance of the farmer will not be valid. 

Non-debtor and sharecroppers can insure their crops voluntarily till the last date of December 15, 2020. For this, the farmer will have to give a copy of the latest Jamabandi of Khasra numbers of the crops sown or sown in the certified area, a declaration form, a copy of the Aadhaar card, a passbook copies of the self-reported back accounts. 

How will you get the benefits? 

The insurance holder farmers will be paid the insurance amount in case of crop damage. Some conditions have also been kept for this. According to the notification, the risk level for all notified crops has been set at 80 percent. The farmer must attach the sowing certificate from the patwari or agricultural supervisor at the time of insuring the crop under e-Mitra or otherwise under the PMFBY so that in case of need, there is no need to face any problem during the insurance claim.

Farmers who have got insurance under e-Mitra under PMFBY for Kharif 2020 must go to e-Mitra and find out that their policy number has been generated. If the policy number is not generated due to any reason, then contact the authority and immediately fill the gap and get the policy number generated. 

The sum assured and farmer premium amount per hectare in different rabi crops are as follows: 

  • Wheat- Sum Insured Rs. 41171, premium amount Rs. 617.57
  • Gram - Sum Insured Rs. 49317, Premium amount Rs. 739.76
  • Mustard - Sum Insured Rs. 53083, Premium amount Rs. 796.25
  • Cumin - Sum Insured Rs. 90282, Premium amount Rs. 4514.1 
  • Isabgol- Sum Insured Rs. 61233, premium amount Rs. 3061.65 per ha.
