PM Fasal Bima Yojana : How Farmers can Claim Insurance for Crop Loss Instantly? Important Documents, Methods to Apply

In case of untimely rains or drought, the crop of farmers is affected in every case. Such situations are difficult for both the farmer and the crop. Keeping this thing in mind, the Central Government has launched the PM Fasal Bima Yojana in 2016 which aims to provide financial support to farmers suffering crop loss/damage arising out of unforeseen events. Moreover, it has been giving assurance and provide relief to the farmers since 2016 in their darkest hours and stabilize the income of farmers to ensure their continuance in farming.

By taking advantage of this insurance scheme, farmers can compensate for their crop loss, money and investment. Crores of farmers are getting benefit from the scheme which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 18th January 2016. Let’s know how every farmer can avail its benefit, methods to apply for this scheme and necessary documents.

How to fill-up the form for PMFBY? 

The PM crop insurance scheme can be applied through banks. Apart from this, the form of this scheme can also be submitted online. The form can also be filled by going to the link https://pmfby.gov.in/.In case of not filling the online form, the form can be filled by going to the nearest bank branch.

Important Documents for PMFBY

For PM crop insurance scheme, the farmer will have to provide a photo card, PAN card, driving license, voter ID card or Aadhaar card as ID card. At the same time, one of these documents can also be given for address proof. For this, the farmer will have to tell the farming documents and the information of the Khasra number will also have to be given.

For the veracity of the crop that has been sown, a letter from the head, patwari or sarpanch has to be presented. If the crop has been sown by renting the farm of another person, then the agreement will have to be applied for the application of the scheme. A cancellation check will also have to be given along with the documents for the claim amount to come directly into the account.

Take care of these things before the claim of PMFBY Insurance

In the case of natural calamity, the claim can be made up to 14 days before harvesting. Under this plan, insurance will not be available in any circumstances other than natural disaster. To get the claim in this scheme, farmers have to pay 1.5 percent premium for rabi and 2 percent premium for kharif crop.
